I ran the same CARFAX report.
The seller said the owner died and the vehicle was lost. It was parked in a facility owned by the family but no one knew which facility or where.
A year after his death, his estate was wound up and the car was reported lost and an insurance payment was made to the estate. The owner's heirs were given their shares.
To me, a title would not be washed over a twenty year period. So again the story seems consistent.
As you see, it was pulled out in 2008 and very, very quickly was restored. The two Helms visits appear on the report.
By now, I have gone through nearly every crack and crevasse in the car and have revealed its condition on these pages in this thread. If there is any doubt as to the genuineness of this car, please let me know.
You can visit it any time you can and we'll her take for a ride, a very memorable ride.
Incidentally, the roadside assistant who jumped the car yesterday freaked out. He kept saying loudly that this was a new car. He kept asking whether we bought it and kept it unused in my garage since 1986. We assured him that was not the case.
I think he is right; despite the car's age, I would consider it to be new. I hope you are enjoying all those comments of admiration, as they are well deserved.

Alarm with the Flashing Lights
So now the alarm has revived itself. The horn does not sound but periodically, the clicking from the starboard front footwell means that the alarm is randomly working and the headlights are flashing.
Will pull the amp box from the footwell and replace in due time.
Also came out to a dead battery again tonight and a roadside vehicle came and gave another jump. I believe it's the alarm amp draining the battery. Will effect repairs tomorrow.
just unplug it. i have one in my 93 and i couldnt figure out why it wasnt working but come to see that it was unplugged. lol

Also, do you have somewhat of an explanation of the components and wire routing involved? I aim to restore the alarm as well, but I am shocked that the alarm was designed to have a mind of its own and arm itself and go off any time its wants. I forgot all about these alarms years ago. Here it pops up again.
