Firstly, I don't have an alarm, so I don't know anything about how it reacts to this installation. Anyway, I bought this Omega keyless entry module for about $30/shipped. I then had the seller send me the relay kit for it called DLS-V ($18/shipped). This combo only requires 4 wires be connected to the vacuum pump under the rear seat! Worked perfectly the first time I tested it! I cut the green wire, but you could use the blue or yellow wires. Green goes to passenger doors, blue goes to driver's door and yellow goes to trunk.
under the rear seat you dont need to cut anything, at the pump theres a male and female spade connector i think theres a blue or yellow wire, unplug and connect it to that. from my experience, when you cut a wire at the pump, and you have the trunk double locked and unlock it with the remote it will relock seconds later for some odd reason..

The instructions I got specifically instructed me to cut the wire. On my 1992 2.6 there were no spade connectors on my pump. Just a round and rectangular plug. It sounds as if someone may have done some work on your car and added those connections. If you were to unplug the wire you're referring to, don't you loose the ability to lock/unlock the car at the lock that the wire was going to? What do you mean by "double locking" the trunk? Your installtion may have been screwed up because I can lock the car at the door or trunk with the key or with the remote and then unlock it with either the key or remote and everything works as it should. I'm so glad I finally got keyless entry! It was SO easy
i know they say cut, i went through the instructions a few time when i installed it. the spades are not on the pump they are near it. im saying that you can cut or use the spades, just incase something goes wrong and you want to reverse it. the spade disconects are the same as cutting the wire. i think my 93 has it gotta check, ill snap a pic of it.
Okay. I didn't see any breaks/connectors in any of the wires, but I really wasn't looking for them. Even if you cut the wire as I did, it is super-simple to splice them back together if you ever need to.
Are you both using the same Keyless entry system? i just got a '89 190e today... need to change the stereo, speakers and see about keyless. any ideas or suggestions appreciated. email me..
dash coming apart? u mean taking out the dash speakers? u need to remove the grille to get to the speaker. it doesnt matter the keyless or alarm system or brand, its universal and wiring to a mercedes is the same. ive done it a few times and its the same wiring.
