DIY: Adding An Armrest

Here I will post pictures of my 16vlv drivers seat that i added an arm rest to. Many members ask if it can be done and if so how hard. I took this black arm rest out of my old 2.6 about 2 months ago and since forgot exactly how I did it but once seeing it I remembered instantly so here we go.

This job took me 30 minutes. On the dot. While watching King of the Hill on FX

The Tools You Need

The Armrest/Parts

The Chair Before Surgery. (Plastic Bag On Bottom Because Of Shit Horsehair)

Picture Taken From Bottom. Remove these two screws to remove the back panel

Back panel off, crapped ass horsehair under the cover

View Of The Side Where Armrest bracket will sit

Armrest bracket in holes, At the same time remove the seat skin from that side of the seat to gain access to the side.

View of the small 10mm screw that goes in the bottom

View of same screw from the other side.

Same side (Under seat skin where top notch slides through hole)

Metal piece fits between the armrest and the seat frame to hold space, slides over the metal extension that is through the chair frame

With that in place I closed up the seat skin

Took out the razor and cut my leather, almost made me cry.

Fitted the armrest on the chair

Bolted it down on the locking washer

I put the rear cover back on an I'm Done!

Any questions, just ask

Enjoy

Your corner lights and that 3rd brake light are in a brown box. further off the right right where the cam isn't seen.

I have a good 1k of DVD's most on those hangers and the rest upstairs for other ppl to watch.
