For the 2.6 engine, where is the engine number located? Stamped on the engine, metal tag on engine or attached to body?

You can always run the vin on the website and it should give it to you.
I did that, the reason I am asking is to see if the engine is the original engine. The engine is just running to strong for nearly 200,000 miles.
So the question is:
The original was rebuilt?
or
The original engine was swapped out and a lower mileage engine put in?
or
It is a 3.0 liter engine?
CarFax shows much of it history (mostly with the second owner), but the first owner did the modifications (titled windows, drilled rotors, stainless-steel brake lines, and at one point was lowered and had 17" wheels).
