Fuel level indicator does not drop

Fuel level indicator does not drop right after I turn off the key (this not happened before I filled the tank). The electrical alarm commands the blinkers to activate for 30 seconds if the door is opened. The gauge drops down only with the door open so the "rhythm" of the blinkers get into the gauge and resets it... so in simple words with every blink the indicator goes to the left one bit, when it's at the middle drops down completely (3-4 blinks needed...) Any ideas for this one?

Remove the alarm and replace/repair any damaged wires.

This may also explain your stalling problem. If the alarm stalls the motor as part of its protective function, then that answers the question in your previous post regarding the stalling.

I'll try that when I'll put back that sensor by monday. TOmorrow I'll take a pic of the trunk ground area (maybe there's a ground I've moved or covered with paint when soundproofing the trunk...) I have only one ground there that I can see, under the hinge, I'll check that first. Can the engine start w/o that ref sensor? I doubt it, so I'll remove the alarm and see what happends...

Wondering if this is also my problem. There is an alarm on my car, which I don't think is factory fitted. There's a small LED in the dashboard, next to the rear window demister switch. The car came with a small alarm fob, which you use to disable the alarm. I would like to remove it - what are the risks?

stefan, did u ever fix ur fuel gauge? im having issues with mines. what happens is that when i fill it gauge is full, after 50 or so miles of driving the needle is at half was. scared me b/c i thought it was consuming alot of gas. then at about a 100 miles its on empty but the light doesnt come on. so i fill it only about 6 gallons of gas are gone at 140 miles. like it should be, but the gauge dances around when i drive on the high way. u think its a gauge issue or a sender issue?

I've checked the ground wire near the sunroof motor.... after I soundproffed the trunk I've messed with it with paint, cleaned it, put a new screw there, now everything is ok...

Hmmm, could be both the sender and the gauge. I had a goofy fuel needle, and replacing the sender helped, but I never quite got it 100% fixed, because the needle had issues too.

While playing with those avoid magnetisation by using magnetic tools as screwdrivers and such...
