I'd like to welcome Kynyption as my new co-host for the w201 forum. He's very knowledgeable about the Mercedes 190E, and is always looking to help out our friends and fellow Benzers here at BenzWorld. Many of you already know him and I encourage those of you who don't know him yet to get to know him now.
Personally, I think he'll make a great addition to the team!
Kynyption, would you please give us a brief history of your background with Mercedes, as well as your real name and location? Also, could you tell us what projects you're currently working on with your car?
I'm very happy to be apart of the BenzWorld team and co-host along side you.
Well in brief, I got my first w201 back in January of 06 and ever since fell in love. My step-dad has always had at least two or three Benz's in the driveway varying from the SL600 to the 380SL and an E320 so the Benz was always in my heart. The car was great and the modifications that members around the world were performing inspired me to do things with my cars. The 2.6 was my daily driver and the best car I have ever had (Before My 16vlv). Not knowing about the different model engines and what not, I figured the 6cyl engine would be better than some 4cyl. Man was I wrong. After hearing about this fabled 16vlv engine I had to have it. Sold the 2.6 locally for about $4500 (500 more than i paid!) and bought a rough condition 1985 Euro 2.3-16 and i love it.
The car is excellent and is just as fast and sweet as everyone claims it to beo. The 16vlv is my current project. Currently rebuilding the engine for a turbo and some nice 1mm over titanium valves.
Adjusting my valves while replacing the timing chain and what not is what is taking most of my current time. There is always something to work on with these cars. Soon I will have 16vlv body pieces coming in the mail to replace my missing and cracked pieces. Also a flex-a-lite electrical fan will be replacing the belt driven fan in the engine bay. Currently the car is lowered on some Blisten shocks with H&R springs sitting on on some 17x7.5 Evo II rims with some sexy 295mm 400E rotors and caliperI. The interior needs some touch up jobs but I am working with a racing company to get a lot of those things handled, hopefully soon this car will be in mint condition
As Chris said I am always around and wiling to help answer any questions regarding any thing with your w201 and if i do not know the answer i am sure it can be found. Currently I am located in the Newark, NJ area and am always willing to meet up with w201 heads like myself.
Once again thank you for this warm welcome Chris and I will be happy to help all members with any questions or comments they may have.
