Can increasing the WIDTH e.g. 185 to 205 be compensated by reducing the percentage of width & hence HEIGHT (e.g. 65 to 55 ; or 55 to 45).
AGAIN only theoretical question.
If you do not like the 185/65 tires (I know why..) go for 195/60HR15 or 205/55HR15. Similar heights.

205/55 R15
I have a 1993 2.3 8v Sportline (South-African spec) with 205/55 R15 tyres on and no rubbing or other problems.

For future reference:
205/55/15 was the OE spec on all W201s fitted with 15x7J rims - Sportlines & 16Vs.
all other W201s with the narrower 15x6.5J rims were fitted with 185/65/15.

Its truth :-p. When you start to love the 190 as much as lots of members. you too, will know an insane amount of stupid shit that no one who doesn't have a 190 will care about
