Brake advice and a bit more work done

Hey everyone. Hearing a bit of noise from my front brakes and I know they are low so its time to replace them. I want to upgrade them (on a budget as usual!)

Would these for the 2.6 fit on?

M60155 BRAKE DISC-VENTED BREMBO 201: 190E 2.6 103.942 09/86>08/93 25.00

What other canny ways are there to improve my braking setup? I am interested in more powerful calipers if any one knows were I could pick a set up cheap ish.

Also I replaced my front shock mounts this evening, was a very straight forward job. Worth doing as the old ones were split across the middle!

Andy

sounds like W124 300E / W201 2.6 brakes are a popular upgrade.
i don't think 2.6 discs alone will fit.

clearance of the insides of your alloys is something to consider - you running 16s?

Remember, if you install something like E320 calipers (4 piston) you had better have 17"s or bigger. My stock 15" wheels will no longer fit on the 16v with the E320 calipers installed.

Thats a good point, i only have little 15s at the moment. I may have to just replace the discs and pads. I can up them to pagid pads at least.

The brake work will have to work until I can get some new wheels. Oh well. It can stay on the list!

Thanks for the advice guys

if you have the solid front disc brakes, then yes the brakes from 190E 2.6 are a slight upgrade (but you will need the calipers as well). The brakes from the 300E are slightly larger than those of the 190E 2.6 (but you will need calipers as well). E320/400E/E420 brakes are larger than 300E brakes (but you will need calipers as well).

You can fit E320/400E/E420 brakes with 15" alloys, as they came stock this way. also the "lightweight" 16" clk wheels offset fit E320/400E/E420 brakes as well.
