I have a 92 2.3 auto and the reverse is wierd. There's a long pause before kicking into reverse and then it only works at idle, just enough to move on a flat surface or decline. If I give it gas it just rev's up. It feels like it's not building pressure up. But if I start on a hill, shift into reverse, and let it roll for 10 feet backwards in reverse I can feel it kick in then it's normal again and It's full speed in reverse. It will stay normal again for a few miles. It's like a valve is sticking or broken spring in the valve body. Just wondering if anyone else had this problem.
I'm not 100% sure, but this could be your vacuum modulator. The VM is on the
pass. side of your transmission & it could be disconnected or malfunctioning.
