i dun think thats possible, you need to do a complete engine swap. wiring and sensors are also different.

This is the dream of all M102 single cam owners.

It's possible, just as stuffing a V-8 into the 190E is also possible. The reality is that it is far cheaper to just buy a whole 16 valve engine than it is to convert a single cam to a twincam. The HP/performance gain will never be justified, it would be cheaper and easier to turbo or supercharge the single cam and end up with a more powerful engine.

Remember, "if it were easy, everyone would be doing it."

That's the truth!!

You may be hard-pressed to find a complete 16v engine to install in your ride. But, it's not impossible. Supercharger/turbo may be a better solution. Or, even a 2.6 or 3.0 conversion.

Just a thought.

Considering all the possible expenses and the doubtful outcome of the project, I would suggest that you just sell your 2.3 and buy a 3.2 (if that's the power you want). This route might prove cheaper, safer and less stressful.

That said, you might also want to consider that the spirit of pursuing a challenge one gets from an idea or innovation helped shape our country to what it is now.

Good Luck!

The MB wiring, ecu and relays are unique to each engine. Most people I have seen that have done engine swaps have completely passed on the MB stuff and gone with an aftermarket ignition system to run the engine. Its much easier and cheaper that way.

pardon?
finding a 3.2 (engineered only by AMG) that's actually for sale will probably cost you more
in travelling expenses than the current market value of a 2.3...
surely you meant 2.6?
