Problem! I have a '86MB2.3-16 and a '93MB190E 2.6 (both with manual transmissions) and both of them have just started having problems with their differentials. Question: Can I use other MB differentials other than the stock ones and still have a direct fit? I would love to have LSD in both of them if it's at all possible. Would appreciate any info. I think the 16v rear end is the same as any other 5 speed 190. Unfortunately 5 speed 190s are about as rare as 16v models. I think the only difference would be in the ratios, not the case or mounting. I don't recall what the 16v diff ratio is but it might be in the owners manual.
What kind of mileage do you have on these cars? I have a 16v that has 253k on it and the rear end seems fine.
