Question Oil Pressure loss with AC on and stopped.

I have a few problems that keep bothering me...My AC was just recharged a month or so ago. Well sometimes the AC just shuts off on its own, then there are other times when it works perfectly. I have no idea where to start with this problem. Another question I have for all of you is, When I'm stopped at a light, with my AC on, the oil pressure drops half way down the guage, is that normal? But when I start driving again it goes back up to normal. If you know anything about these problems please let me know! I appreciate the help, Thanks in advance, Mike!

If the AC is intermittant, I would start first with the compressor & look at it to see if the clutch is engaging. The compressor could be shutting down because of an over/under pressure in the system (usually the black switch on the dryer) or a high engine operating temp (usually the blue switch on the engine coolant block) It could also be a problem with the climate control unit in the dash. As far as the drop in oil pressure, it may just be the lower RPM's at idle when the AC is on. I think half way down the gauge is OK. Good Luck......
