got my AC system fixed today... OMG.... it's so fridged you can catch a cold on a hot summer day. R12 is definately the way to go! the R134 in my BMW isn't as cold (but cold enough).
anyways, went to get it all fixed/recharged and the guy said i don't need the part since it was empty for only a short amount of time. if anyone is looking for it, $50 (maybe shipping) and it's yours.
How much $ are we talking about to get the a/c fixed. I'm running (apparently) the ''old system" and will need a conversion.. Thx for the info..
i brough my own r12 with me (only used the one big can). where are you located? i went to Brother Mercedes in Pompton Lakes, NJ. Really nice guy and don't get suckered by his dogs... they know how to get their scratches in... once you start, they'll keep hounding you for more. great dogs.
give him a call. he charged me $80 for the job but that's because i brought my own stuff... he doesn't have R12 so if you need some, let me know... i have 2 small cans here.
Thanks for the offer chivas but i live in Montréal.Athought i will be going to the Jersey Shores for summer vacation (Avalon) but will be travelling with the Grand Caravan ).Driving that van makes me sooooo much more appreciative of my Cosworth...
