Welcome, ricehunter! Updating your profile with your location and car(s) might help.

Just to state the obvious, when was the last time you checked your plugs, wires, cap, rotor. Assuming you have a gasoline engine. Plus, what mileage does the car have? These items are normal wear-n-tear and can be bought either at the dealer, some local auto parts stores or online.

Well, it could be a number of problems from here. How about your fuel filter? Have you replaced it lately? Injectors clogged up? air/fuel mixture set wrong? Leaky fuel lines/fuel distributor?

May be worth having the emissions checked also. I did mine the other day and touch wood seems o.k now. Gained quite a few horses too.
