Brake Rattle .... "Anti-Rattle Spring"?

Hello, all. Long time lurker, first time poster. TONS of great advice, info on this website. THANK YOU! I have a 1985 190E, and LOVE IT. It has needed some TLC, and thanks to the info on the list...it's running better than ever.

I have been suffering with a rattle on the passenger side, that is only present when the brake pedal is NOT being pressed and traveling over rough pavement. I am missing the "Anti-rattle spring" on the passenger's side. I was wondering if anyone knew of anywhere one could be purchased. I have tried all of my typical part sources, and several others, but I can not find an anti-rattle spring for this model. Thanks in advance, and I hope someone out there has some ideas!
Thanks,
ED

Have you tried your local MB dealer. Parts like this are normally pretty cheap. I always fit genuine parts to my Merc becuase they are good quality, last for ever and they fit. Oh yeah and I used to work there so get a handsome discount too. [:D]

Welcome to the forum.

Thanks! Although it's a bit embarassing to admit.... I haven't tried the dealership. LOL. Thanks for the advice. I'll check it out.
Thanks for the welcome.

If you still cannot locate the correct shims,a layer of 'Coppaslip' or other brake paste on the back of the pad can work as a substitute.

Hey, Guys thanks for the input. I did call my local dealership, and WOW were they helpful. I have ordered new brakes and sensors for the front, and am hopeful that this will fix my "rattle" problem. I will update after I've put them on. Thanks again!
