power steering fluid leak

Well, I have isolated a p/s leak at the high pressure connection to the pump. Thought I might try to tighten the connection but do not want to break anything.

Do I need to replace the entire hose section?

Thanks, James

RE: power steering fluid leak

suggest you buy a single hex open ring spanner, called a flare nut spanner, using this you can tighten the coupling tighter than with a regular spanner. i bought a cheap flarenut spanner and cut some length off so it would fit in the space to tighten mine. seems to be a common problem with 190e's. check for leaks after tightening to see if hose end or coupling has a crack causing the leak, hjopefully you will get lucky and just nip up the nut to fix the leak

RE: power steering fluid leak

Thanks quys. I will see if I can put a little more torque on this connection.

Appears to be the only fluid leak on this car and it's a good one.
