RE: wadeperformanceproducts.com??

I think I'm going to fabricate one in a day or two, I'll post a pic and let you guys have a look. I'm probably going to use the multiple tube idea..anything wrong w/ that idea, I can't think of anything right now...

RE: wadeperformanceproducts.com??

I might just want to try and open up the OEM intake openning like you mentioned and try to get more air routed into it. the 2.6 has barely enough room to do anything. And it seems like the opening of the intake ducting is so thin. Somehow it must suck air in from the left side of the radiator. In the pics you can see how there is almost no room for a bigger intake nozzle. Even if there was an aftermarket cold-air intake on a 2.6 there would be a minimal amount of air rushing in that little space to begin with, so in all the OEM setup is probably the best thing for it, unless you would be able to route the air in from another opening in front of the car.

Avoid dragging a tube from the exhaust side and over the valve cover unless you want to pre-heat the air :)

I've seen some guys that have done away with the fog lights. If you don't have the Euro style headlights you could customize a matched replacement cover and make the drivers side an addtional opening :)

RE: wadeperformanceproducts.com??

does anybody know of a good website online where you can buy the intake tubing for a 2.6. One the the connector ducts near the air box has a crack in it that i want to replace.

RE: wadeperformanceproducts.com??

not a hood scoop...just one of the duct pieces that routes the cool air from the front to the air box. Does anyone know where i could get a replacement part for that.

this might be a bit extreme but what if you were to create a "port" right above the driver headlamp in the hood of the 2.6 kind of like a ram air effect.....i dno how that would work entirely.

I've seen some people do like a vent in the fender, im told some 190D's had them.

I agree the 2.6 is quite limited in the area up there, they really shoe-horned the engine in there.

Perhaps with some serious modification one could install duct work so that the air is drawn up from behind the bumper on the driver side. Either cut through the sheet metal or somehow run it underneath the intake manifold.
