Can someone tell me how to confirm if my 85 109e 2.3 is equipped with factory alarm?

Don't want to activate by mistake.

I don't think so, but if you disconnect your battery and re-connect back again, the horn will start beeping! Then you will have to insert your key in the door and turn left to disable it!

I would like to put an alarm in my car, even an aftermarket one, but how does it work with the locking system on these cars?

"Clifford" or "Viper" They work great !
Some relays have to be installed along with the
alarm itself to control the door lock actuators.
Overall is a simple install for the do-it-yourselfer!
Some electronics stores offer free installation, so
take advantage of this service. A small fee may be
applied for the extra actuator relays.
My 190E in Greece has a Viper alarm which was purchased for $300 and I installed it myself. It took
about 4-5 hours.

I have a Vipe in my BMW M3 and i love it!! I had it installed at Tweeter, I will check around and see who has what specials and such, but I think it will be last on the list for now
