After looking at 190E's for long enough, I have noticed that all of you guys have your wiperblade resting on the drivers side ....mine is on the passangers side. It sits a little high so is it possible that the wiper was replaced wrong??? very wierd..ill post pics tomorrow

You know, that's a great question!
I think that 190E's & the 16valves 1984-1986, blades are on the passenger's side & the euro/domestic 190E's are on the driver's side????
Actually, since you mentioned that it rests a little high, I think what happened is someone pulled the wiper assembly out at one point, perhaps to get access to the heater blower motor, or to repair the wiper motor.
Anyway, when they re-tightened the nut that holds the wiper arm to the motor, they didn't reset the wiper to the driver's side, and instead had it on the passenger's side. That's permanently gonna sit that way unless you pull the wiper assembly out and unscrew that nut, reset the arm, then re-tighten the nut. 'Tis about an hour long job.
By the way, I accidentally did this exact same thing on my C280 last week, and then I had to open it all back up and re-set it properly. I felt like a total dufus! [:D]
The idea of the wiper sitting on the drivers side is so the the drivers view is the first area swept, therefore the driver can see where the road is. Leading nicely on to the DTM set up which wipes towards the drivers side first so wipes the drivers view twice before it wipes the passenger side. Probably makes little difference in real life though.
As nOalpha says if you remove the nut on the motor you can make the wiper park wherever you like however there are timing marks on the linkage and gearbox to align correctly.
Thought about the DTM look myself but I think it would bug me having the wiper sat in view constantly so never bothered.
83 to mid-85 had it on the passenger side. But if it's placed high in park, and goes all the way down on the drivers side, it may be invertedly placed.
On my 84, the blade is parked on the passenger side, and does not go all the way down on the drivers side.

correct. MB introduced their patented wiper on the W201 at the same time as the introduction of the W-124 late 1984. I was surprised to see the wiper on the drivers side as well. All the Euro W-201 I used to drive (in) had it on the other side. BtW it is the same case with the late 80s Jaguar XJ-6.
Guess it is a DOT requirement....

When I took my monowiper apart for service and lube I put it on the passenger side by accident and found that it was actually a better place for it, it seemed to wipe better since there wouldn't be any drips to blow back up the windshield, and it was less of a visual distraction too, it makes it easier to see that beautiful star :). I would leave it, you aren't hurting anything!
