Replace Modulator Valve in the Transmission ????

!!!It is a plus to replace the Modulator valve???

I will explain why

I was told that may be the reason why the car does not shift between 40 and 60 MPH.

To me is not shifting. for instance when I am going around 60 MPH and if I release the acelerator pedal the car start rapidly slowing down.

it is up to you guys.

is That the real problem??

does Replace the modulator will help???

If it is

Any ideas about the step to follow to replace the Modulator valve in the transmission??.
1990 190E 2.6

Thanks in advance
