1993 190e help

Hi everyone, I'm buying my first car and I think this car is what I will end up buying.




1993 MERCEDES-BENZ 190E, auto, 4 cylinders 2.3, fully loaded, a/c, sunroof, Panasonic CD, alarm, perfect condition, only 149,000 kms, moving to US, must sell fast!, $4,800

I can spend about 9 000$ max CDN on a used car, and if I spend less then that I can buy stuff for my car.

I have read alot of good things about this car and I know the insurance cost on it is cheap but is it "better" (More reliable, cheaper on gas, easier to maintain, safer ect.) than a 1992 325i(8000- 9000$), 1992 Lexus Es300 (8000- 9000$) or 1996 Cadillac Seville ( 7500- 14000$), becaause those are the other cars I am looking at.

If I do end up buying this car; with the money I save I would like to buy rims, tint the windows on it, mabye lower it and change the grill and lights. Can anyone tell me what lights, grill, rims look good on it and how much they will cost.

sounds like a bargain.

i have a near-mint 1993 190E 1.8i and i wouldn't let it go for less than £3000 GBP. these cars are wonderful, so smooth and reliable. a BMW 325i is an entirely different beast - exciting around the switchbacks but if you ever gotta munch the miles (900km in a day), you'll be sooo glad you got a Benz. as will any passengers...

as for the Lexus & Caddy, i can't imagine they have anywhere near the level of engineering that went into this car. it is widely revered as one of the last 'properly made' Mercs.
