Just wanted to introduce myself, my name is Joseph. I am no stranger to the forum world. I am a member of the CorvetteForum which is where I go for my Corvette knowledge. But I just aquired a 1991 190E 2.3 for my sons first car. He is turning 15 on Christmas day and in Florida you get your restricted license at 16. [:)]
Unfortunately I'll probably need that year and a half to get this thing ready for him. I'll be picking it up on August 15 locally. The car itself has a nice exterior and interior but I fear the engine has seen better days. It has 167,xxx miles on it and seller gave me this info on it:
The car was running perfectly until a few weeks ago. After this I needed to turn the ignition a few times until the engine started. And then the engine overheated one day. Since then I have not driven it anymore to reduce the risk of further damage.
I had the car checked by a mechanic and he said that apparently the carborator kit is not in good condition anymore and has to be repaired or exchanged. The catalytic converter needs to be replaced aswell. The cold AC does not work due to a leak and needs to be replaced. The fan works fine. The starter doesn’t work.
------------------------------------------
I purchased the car for next to nothing so I am prepared to sink some money into it to get it worthy for my son. I guess the first step will be to perform a compression test to see where the motor is. [:(]
I'm sure you'll all be hearing from me soon as I try to tackle this new project.

no carb
your car doesn't have a carburetor. it uses electro-mechanical fuel injection
Wait a minute, the info from the seller is from his eBay description.
Here's the link if anybody cares to peak at it:
