Bulb/Lighting for climate controls...where is it? Help! - Benzworld.org

I did check the fuses--all seem intact, and the only thing that doesn't appear to be running is the bulb behind the climate controls--can't set the things in the dark (instrument cluster seems to work fine and have a backlight, dome lights work, radio works, etc).

Does anyone know how to access the bulb?

The vehicle is a 1984 190d.

I just replaced my bulbs the other day. I have a 1992 190E 2.3.
The MB part number of the bulbs is 072601-012230. There are three altogether; one for the blower switch, and two for the left and right sides of the climate control unit.
The bulb is pictured as item #53 in the picture attached. To get at them, I removed the console and then the climate control unit. As shown in the picture, there's a plastic cover on the top of the unit that has to be carefully pried off, which reveals a circuit board strip, into which the bulbs are inserted.
