Reset Check Engine light on 91 190E 2.3

Hello all,
Sometimes when we washed our cars with high pressure water hose, we may get the "check engine" light to come on, turning ignition on/off doesn't fix it, you have to disconnect the battery (I disconnect the ground) and connect it back on, the check engine light is gone.
Before trying to replace oxigen sensor or other smog components, try this first, you may save yourself some money. I fixed this twice already.
