is it possible to open that area up (finished wood and i think it is about 4"x6")and use it for storage of cd's (or cassettes)??? is there any after market (things) that may go in that spot ???

I believe you can buy something for that, but I forget where. Or you can custom make a storage thing for your cds or cassettes.

there's a company that makes a tray that replaces the cassette holders above the radio on the 190...i've seen them on ebay before...but I haven't seen anything for below the radio.
