I've got a 1993 2.3L. The climate system fan makes a lot of noise when the fan selector is set on III or max. The noise sounds like a playing card in the spokes of bicycle wheel. Sometimes there is some squeaking as well. I've got the manual on cd to take out the blower motor and troubleshoot it. Can anyone tell me what the problem might be? Should I expect to replace the blower motor? Any feedback is appreciated!
Squealing is the electric motor itself, when it squeals, it's getting close to needing a replacement. Sometimes oiling the bushing a little bit stops it for a bit but in general, take it as a sign it's going out.
THe card in the spokes sound, I have no idea what that means.

Sometimes when a small object gets into the defroster vent or air intake it works its way down into the blower housing and the blower cage rubs on it sometimes making that noise.
Lubracating the bushings is always a good idea and look for small object in there well your at it.
the blower motor is about to die....the bearings are worn out, that is why the squealing and ticking sounds occur.
Yep if you are able to replace it yourself, please do. Saves you a lot of cash.
part is only available at dealerships, is about
US 200.00 - 230.00.
good luck
