Unless you really know what to look at, buying a 2.3-16 is risky business, just as with any sport sedan. The fewer previous owners the better, since subsequent owners tend not to do the expensive maintenance that most original owners do, and on a 2.3-16, deferred maintenance can end up costing big bucks. While not as pricey or scarce as 300SL Gullwing parts, the new model specifc parts for the 16 valve are pricey and getting harder to source. |
