Has anyone replaced the hood insulation? I would like to, believe I saw a replacement part on one of the MB parts sites for around $130. Has anyone just used a universal kits where you just cut to fit?

They are available on Ebay for under $75, just be sure you get the one for your model, since there are variations in the "indents" in the pad. Also, be sure the seller ships the pad rolled up or, as MB does, a single gentle fold in a very large, flat box.

Thanks for the comments, but you point out a problem that I have with the present stock insulation, it is just to flimsy.
