well i was drivng my car down the road normally not speeding or anything... and i smelled burning plastic
and then i saw fire coming from under the hood.. so i pulled over and shut the car off.. and opened the hood and the fire was coming from the windsheild washer nozzle.. has any heard of this before.. and what would have caused this? and how can i fix it?

RE: my car caught fire while driving.. need help

On my model there are electrical connectors to both the washer nozzels, I bet you had a short between the wires, which caused the plastic shealth to catch fire.

Check the wires for breaks and wrap then in electricians tape.

Now if anyone can tell me why there are wires going to the nozzels...(is it to power heater elements?)

Mike.

I agree with Mike 65, you could try and patch it but why bother give the fine lady a new part or a good second hand part

For this to happen, the fuse must have been by-passed or the wrong one was used.
