History of my 1988 190E

Hi All,

I was just wondering if anyone could give me a brief history of my 88 190E 2.3. I was just wondering what it evolved from? And how rare is? What was the sticker price on it new in the States? Is the modern day C class an evolution of the 190E? Any info is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
--- Benzw00d

To say the least, it isn't rare. And yes the W201 is the father of the W202, and the grandfather of the W203.

RE: History of my 1988 190E

The 190e was an all-new body in 1982 but used engines/transmissions from the W123 series I belive. The 2.3 8v is the most common US model

right
the 2.6 from the w126 was available too in w201
but the diesels: 2.0 - 2.2 - 2.5 - 2.5turbo
were completely new engines
i believe (some parts of) the suspension was new too.
