RE: 1987 190 e 16 valve

Rather generic advice, but sounds like a fuel delivery problem. Trace the fuel systems from the fuel tank to the fuel injectors. Likely culprits, one of the dual fuel pumps might be marginal or failed, clogged fuel filter, or possible bad injector, but unlikely. On the electronic side, the fuel pump relay might be acting up or a problem with one of the intake temperature sensors.

RE: 1987 190 e 16 valve

So far all my rough idle and poor running problems were solved with Chevron Techron fuel treatment. Its available at Walmart and auto part stores also. It happened so often with my 190 2.3, I started adding 35ml to each tank and my car has been perfect for the last 2 years. The discription of your problem is a little vauge so what I suggest is put a bottle or 2 in the car and while your trying to fix your car and it might just clear it self up. Chevron Techron..no substitutes... I wish I had a 16v hot rod in my driveway. I think were assuming your maintaince as far as tune ups is up to date.
