Performance upgrades

Hi everyone,
A friend of mine has got me hooked on these beaut's, and i'm seriously looking to get one when i return from overseas. But, my question is are there any performance mods out there. Like cams, exhaust, Port and polish, and what not. I have seen the beckers stroker kit, and the MBautowerks turbo car. I read somewhere about a mosselman turbo kit, too. Any info would be great. Thanks-Freddie[^]

RE: Performance upgrades

Your desires are only limited by time and money. The more money you have the less time it will take. Which leads to how much time and money do you want to invest in a car that was originally designed in the late '70's and out of production as of 1993?

Most off the shelf tuning parts are "out of stock" or discontinued, particularly engine tuning parts like cams and tubular headers, but they can be custom fabricated. Eibach, H&R, etc. suspension pieces are also getting discontinued for the W201.

Forced induction via turbocharging and supercharging are all custom works and the biggest stumbling block is the replacement of the fuel management system at moderate to higher boost levels.

What a lot of potential tuners forget when they start with the W201 chassis is that it was originally designed as a highway sedan, hence the gearing and the choice of powerplants and luxury parts. Turning it into a V-TEC hunter requires some severe and costly modifications.

RE: Performance upgrades

I just plan to have a nicely modified version. Don't plan on hunting honda's, not worth the time. Just knowing that i would be drivng quality not quantity. Canyon carving is more my style, and it's always more fun with 4 people.
