190E 2.3 fuel adjustment

Hello all.
I have just purchased a 190E 2.3 (8V), from 1993.
The previous owner told me that, when he bought it, he had to readjust the fuel injection because the idle was so low that sometimes it stalled. After that, the idle was high (about 1000rpm) and the car ran much better, but had to readjust it to pass the emission checks.
Now I would like to increase it a little bit in order to have a higher idle and so the car gives more power.

Does someone know what adjustmen it is? He told me about an adjustable knob or something with several fixed positions, although it seems to me more the fuel distributor adjustment screw. What do you think?

Once I know what it is, can I do it myself? Is it dangerous without the proper measurement equipment?

Best regards and a lot of thanks.

RE: 190E 2.3 fuel adjustment

Idle adjustment can be made through a screw accessed through a hold in the top of the air filter box. How is it you believe that increasing the idle is going to net you more power?
