I have a friend who is looking at a 1993 190E. It is supposedly a LImited Edition alhtough I was unaware they made a limited edition model but I certainly am not a expert on these cars.
The car is a one owner with 117K miles. The lady wants $7300 which I think is high but it isn't my $$. What do you all think?
Also, what is the service interval for the timing belt/chain replacement? Is it every 60K miles or??
The Limited Editions weren't that much different from the standard model, mostly interior and styling upgrades. I believe the LE had more wood trim, leather seating, sport seats, rear headrests and badges. Performance-wise, it's a standard W201.
actually the 93 LE is a 190 2.6 Sportline. Onlly 700 were sold in the US. the package included 4 bucket seats with red inserts and red piping, rear headrests, carbon fiber trim, sportline gear shift, low profile tires, 8 spoke rims, and a sportline suspension which added tighter handling and lowered the car by a quarter inch. heres a site with some pictures and more info http://www.people.virginia.edu/~fdw3f/
There was both a 2.3 LE and 2.6 LE Sportline available. Both had a production run of 700.
The 2.3 LE is recognized by its mono-paint scheme, which is Brilliant Emerald, 8-hole wheels (15x6), creme beige leather upholstery, and burl walnut trim.
The 2.6 LE Sportline had the sport tuned suspension (sway-bars, springs, shocks, and struts), some even came with an SLS rear, 8-hole wheels (15x7), and among other things that you mentioned.
