cannot put seat belt panel back in! help!

i have a 89 190e 2.6 8v.

umm this panel has fallen out of it's place and i cant seem to put it back together. i tried to put the clip back in but it just doesn't lock. what should i do?

It is an awkward panel to replace isn't it.

Pull the door seals away on either side first.

At the back of the height adjuster on the trim, there is a circular hole (for want of a better description), this needs to line up with the protruding stud on the actual mechanism near the top of the belt.

When it is lined up, push the trim on and it should be O.K.

Push the door seals back on and they should hold the trim in place but be careful when you try to attach the bottom trim as you may pull the main trim out and your back to square one.
