i have an 87 190 and i would like to know what's the best positon to fit dome tweeters at the front-do i need a crossover-where could i get a crossover-can i build my own crossover(diagrams would be nice) at present i have a sony head unit and all the original wiring has been butchered by previous owners.
any assistance would be much appreciated guys

If you want to use the OEM dash cutouts, the biggest driver that will fit are 4" and that will be a pressure fit. If you want to add small dome tweeters, the A pillar is the logical spot since they pull off and there's a channel for wiring. You'll just have to paint the housing to match the pillar if necessary. As for crossovers, you'll want to put an inline capacitor to block any bass.
The cap rating will depend on what frequency you want the cut off to be at, which will depend on the freq/power handling rating of the tweeter. Check out your local audio shop or do a Google search on "bass blocker"
