Question Location of 1999 E430 ATA Sensor

Hi, folks,

Has anyone replaced one of these tow level sensors (see pic)? The manual I have actually lists the location in 2 different places; one under the rear seat bench near the battery and one over the left wheel well in the trunk. It's in neither spot. We've identified that it's causing a short & draining the battery, and I have a new one, just can't find the old one to replace it. Any ideas?

Many thanks,

Tony

You will find better assistance with locating and replacing this sensor in the W210 forum. Though a few of us here have had W210 body E-Class cars, or have had experience working on them, this practicular forum is for the W201 chassis, which is the first compact class Mercedes, which in later chassis codes would become known as the C-Class.

I know enough to be dangerous...

1992 190E 2.6 - 201,000

1986 420SEL - 204,000 miles (Timing chain and transmission r&r time)
