What should I be on the lookout for?
Any good threads to read up on?
It appears $2,900 is too low a price. The interior is excellent as is the body. She sits at the correct ride height and her electrical appears to work correctly. So it seems the owner kept up with maintenance up to 190,000 miles.

However, there may be cumulative maintenance problems that are driving down the price. You have check the entire exhaust plumbing to be sure it is whole. Watch the steering system in its entirety. Test drive it to see whether the motor starts up and shuts off and the gears shift correctly. Leakage in the engine compartment has to be isolated and repaired (power steering hoses) and vacuum problems have to be cured.

Otherwise, you have a gem.

The home of the two 201's.

The W123 you have in the ad is a remarkable automobile. I has the mix of tank-like feel and high torque these cars are revered for.

A thorough review of this one starts under the car. Watch for belly pan rust and oil leaks. Check the number and type of after market parts used over the years to maintain her. The more non-OEM parts means the more restoration is needed to restore her to original running and sounding condition. Check the mounts, shafts, disks and connections.

Get the data sheet to see if she has her original engine and transmission. Check the interior, electrical and pillars.

The home of the two 201's.

I'm in love with that car!

Honestly, the only thing that could make it look better would be the square euro headlights.

Check out the W123 forum, they have quite a few knowledgeable guys over there.

Thumbs up Great color combo 93 2.3

Super two tone exterior and light camel interior. Awesome. Great price it seems.
Little body work on r/f. Can't see the other side. I'm not in the market but maybe I should be.

88 W201 2.6 w/cladding and spoiler

Interesting. Not the price. Assuming orig, could one order the cladding and spoiler on a NAM W201 in 88?

nice find. The wheels themselves are already worth 400.
Purchase the car, sell the wheels and send the car to the junk yard to make another few hundred.
