DIY door panel removal (revision with pics)

I spent most of the day trying to remove my door panel, as my passenger window stopped working (bad motor it'd seem). I was frustrated with the lack of pictures on the stickied instruction thread. So... I decided to contribute rather than complain, and take some pictures while reassembling and added them and some more details to the current instructions. Hope this saves someone some time and frustration.

Removal:

1 Unscrew the door pin [pic 1, pic 2]

2 Remove enclosure on door lock (only one screw) [pic 3, pic 4]

3 Carefully pry off cover on the door handle [pic 7, red arrow]

4 Loosen bolt inside on hand grip[pic 5, pic 6]

5 If equipped with power seats:
- Remove all 3 buttons by carefully pulling away from the door ( I used a pair of pliers with a towel over the buttons to avoid scratching) [pic 7, blue arrow]
- Carefully pry out the circle clip surrounding round switch near center of power seat controls, after removing clip the cover will pull off. [pic 8] (sorry I couldnt get a closer pic, my phone cant focus that near)

- Remove two screws of the seat control [pic 1] (one on each side) [pic 2, pic 3] (I'd already removed screw, though one will be there)
- Pull seat control out and detach harnesses. [pic 4] (with seat control out)

6 slide door handle housing forward, while detaching the goldish rod connected to door handle (refer to pic 5 above) I did this by pushing against it, away from yourself, while pulling handle and pushing housing forward and it slides right out. [pic 5] (with door handle housing removed)

7 Pull door lining in upward direction out of holders and remove. [pic 6, how door looks with panel removed] [pic 7, moisture barrier removed] [pic 8, inside of door panel] [pic 9, door panel clip, hopefully this helps you to get an idea of how to lift out]

Nice write up, I was expecting to see that the door card used snap in connectors along the perimeter, but glad that it does not have them as they are a pain! BTW, did you check your fuses, even if you did, I'd suggest replacing them/any of them that apply to any of the windows just to be safe. but of course, you are 1/2 way there to testing the motor istself...

Thanks much! I always wondered why our tutorial had no pix! I'm getting ready to take this on myself, so I really appreiciate it. Here is another set of instructions I've located in case it helps anyone. Interior Door Panel Removal

Here is the link to the other thread on this forum (but I could not see the pictures for some reason).

Another personal experience note : when your door's panel keepers ( Plastic hooks) pop out out of panel due to aging, moisture, glue dried out then nothing better than two parts Simpson epoxy ( You can purchase at Home depot on a small tube) to glue them back where its belong. You'll be happy when put back you removed panels with its new life.DO NOT USE CRAFT HOBBY or CARPENTER HOT GLUE.
