Installing Power Seat in my W201

Dear MB experts,

I bought a new interior for my 1984 190e for less. At this moment (original seat), the drivers seat is manually controlled. The chair I've bought is electric controlled.

Of course, it would be nice to install the electric feature. Before I am going to do that, I have a few questions about that.

- Is there any wiring available (factory prepared)?
- If no: Is it easy to install this electric controlled seat? (does somebody have the connectors for this installation?

Hope someone can help me. Sorry for my limited English!!!

Best regards,

Mike

I dont know all the detail, in fact I dont know any of the details... except for 1

You'll need the doorcards from a car with electric seats. Since in MBs the controls for the seats are located next to the door handle.

Best of luck to you!

Hi Ivan,

Thanks for your reply. The hole in the doorcard is no problem, all doorcards were included in purchase.

Mike

You can actually cut the door card and bypass this problem.

As far as the power seat harness it is there, it is expensive form the dealer and you can rip one out of a car at a junk yard. Or just replace the seat onto your manual seat rails for the time being.

I know it will be expensive to buy it new. Good idea to replace the rail, but I have plenty of time before replacing the interior. I can collect all parts that I need before installing.

I have an '86 that had power seats. I have the drivers side control in good shape, and the passenger control is missing the back control portion. I can pull the wiring out and see what needs to be done to install it in yours. It may be plug and play if you're lucky.

That's very nice! I would be very happy if I can buy.

I'll send you a PM for that.
