starting 3 days ago
my car has been choking after i start it
this is as detailed as i can describe it:
turn key
engine revs up to about 1200 comes down to a little below 1000rev
after about 3-4 seconds engine chokes, car shakes
kinda like coughing, it coughs for about 4-5 times.
while it chokes the revs go way down...and the needle fluctuates at about 400-600rev
and after that car goes back to normal for another...3-4 seconds
this will continue forever
if the car is too cold on startup, it might stall.
it stalled once when i tried to put it into R gear
car does this choking on every gear
now this choking ends when the car is in motion
when i rev up the engine, there's no sign of choking at all as well

please help....any information would be greatly appreciated!

The advice given by Kyniption is sound advice. On the easy side of the fix, be sure to check that air filter. Relays are found behind the battery. Remember that the combustion in the cylinders is directly related to the correct amount of oxygen, fuel and spark. If your air filter is near its end life, it will not allow the right amount of oxygen to mix with the fuel; likewise, if the spark is weak and intermittent there will be hesitation of combustion; and if your fuel accumulator,
filter and pumps have not been serviced or checked, they too could add to your problem. Usually problems like you are experiencing can be solved by a tune-up and visual inspection. I know problems like this can drive a person crazy, but there is almost always a solution. Finally, I suggest that you get a can of SEAFOAM, pour it into your gas tank, fill up with 92 octane at a top tier gas station like Shell and drive like hell for half an hour, but check the condition of your air filter first. It may be a few days before you see the results. Good luck!
