Help Electrical !!!!!190e 2.6 1989

I have currently installed the engine on my car and I'm having problem with the electrical system. I don't have any power at all on the car.
I suspect that there is some thing missing on the new engine that I have installed, a wiring of some sort that is connected to the battery.
On the battery positive side there should be 2 cables connected to it. One of the cable goes directly to the starter and I don't know where the other is connected to. Does anybody know where it should go? The new engine does not have the wire.

If you will notice on this pic (not mine) there is another cable that is connected to the positive pole of the battery. Could that be the reason why I do not have power on the car at all?

Guys, if that is not the reason why I cannot get any electricity from my battery, is there any other fuse or relay even any other component that I'm missing. I cannot even start the car. Help!!!

If I remember correct, there should be two wires coming off of the battery positive. One to the starter and the other to the fuse box. This allows you to have power to the ign switch and the electrics of the car itself.

On my 190e, one of the positive wires go to a little distribution box near the battery, and then goes into the interior of the car.

Sounds like you have no power at all because of the second wire from the battery not giving any power to the ignition switch and the rest of the car. Check for that wire.

Good luck.

I have connected to other wire to this slot.

Is this correct... still the starter wont even turn.
The other is, the aux fan turns momentarily when the ignition key is turned on.
I know that I have a good starter and I have connected the wires to the starter properly.

How do you know the starter is good? Did you hook it up to the battery DIRECT when you had the whole engine out to see how it spun? I'll try and search around and see about the connections.

You have a good point. I did not try that when the engine was still out, the reason is I took the starter from the other engine that I have which I'm sure it cranks up. I will try and re-visit the connection. It will be a bitch (female dog) though because it is deek inside now. But is the connection that I did from the battery correct?
I will be posting another tread about the other issues that I have...

Seems to me that there is no cable that is linked to the positive terminal except for the one that is going to the starter. Is #23 the one that supplies the power to the internal electrical components (i.e. ignition S/W, instrumentation). Nomally on other car like my bmw, there is a cable that is connected to the main fuse box.
What I did was I connected the extra cable from the positive terminal to red cable (as I'm pointing in the picture). The net effect is I have power inside but when I turn the ignition on, the aux fan turns momenterally and there are some clicking sound in the intake manifold, but the starter will not turn.
