I have an 2006 A170, and after an oil change the engine light came on. A code reader comes up with the code P0068, MAP/MAF Throttle Position correlation.
does anyone know what this means? or what is the cause?
Hi, thanks for the reply. The oil change was done at a garage, only the oil and oil filter were changed. I don't think the air filter was changed.
any ideas ?
I meant the oil filter, which is quite inaccessible behind the engine. Some piping could have been dislodged. The code could to be related to some barometric device, seemed like it when I googled it.
You undoubtedly paid top money for the work they did do? why not take the car back and complain, obviously the light wasn't there before the garage got their hands on it, I expect they are short of work and looking for a job or two so take care or they will stitch you up for something that doesn't need doing.
Strangely After a few miles of motorway driving >50mph the Engine light has gone.
And has stayed of for last 2 days, fingers crossed it does not come back on.
So I don't think it was a vacume leak? maybe a faulty sensor or the throttle position has somehow corrected itself? by using more open throotle on the motorway. only time will tell.
I have only had this car 2 weeks, bought from a non-MB private garage. They did an oil change for me, and put in Semi-Synthetic oil. So I will get this oil changed ASAP to a Merc approved fully synthentic oil.
Thanks for all the replies, some very good information.
just hope the fault does not come back.
