Assyst 'Service A' Interval

Roughly how long should it be before I get a Service-A message?

My 57 A150 has only 2500 miles on it!

I'll swear the last time I looked (a week or so ago) it said something like 'Service A due in 13000 miles'. The car's not been subject to any unusual use, the battery's not been off or anything like that. It's now telling me I have 30 days to get it done.

Does this sound like a fault?

Incidentally, can anyone give me a clue as to what a Service-A is likely to cost when the time comes?

Well 'A' is supposed to be a small service BUT I was told that even MB can't tell you until you take the car in for service.
If the service Assyst is the same as the W168 then you won't get more than 1 year or 10000-12000 between services and even if you jack the car up for a year when you re-start it will call for another service.
The w168 counts down two days at a time when it approches the service date and contiues to count 2 days for every day over the service along with an audible warning on start up. I suspect your w169 won't be much different

I don't know why they called it ASSYST it alt to have been called MBCon.

Just had the same here, except with a service C. It said 7000 miles before and now 28-days.

Apparently its becauase although the mileage interval is accurate, the maximum time between a service is 18-months. I guess this is to prevent people who do super low mileages not bothering with services.

What is the service code? Push the trip reset knob three times (ignition in position 1 and KM/Distance in display). You will then enter the service menu and can read out the code.

Ignition must be in position 1 (display on) and display must show total km. When trip button is pressed 3 times rapidly the display enters service mode, and you can go down the menus and display the service code. I think this procedure works on post 2006 cars only.

The service code will show what items must be changed/serviced.
