Angry Transmission/wheel noise

I have a long wheel base A190. Recently the left front wheel has developed a whirring noise when turning sharp left or left uphill.

I have replaced the front tires which has reduced a general shudder noise and
had the wheel bearing replaced but the noise still persists.

Mercedes dealer and my regular mechanic are unable to diagnose the problem, and suspect a transmission fault of sorts.

Has any one else had this issue? Would much appreciate any info you may have.

Could it be the driveshaft's CV joint?

Are you sure? Distinguishing noises apart is quite a challenge. Noises such as pump noises, torque converter noises, etc. In some situations, noises goes away when the transmission is in gear.

There is a slight Purr / Whine with mine when driving, I took a Mechanic out with me & he said it was the 'Run Flat Tires'

Admittedly not your problem Aussie A190 but thought it was worth a post.
