Angry 4 Month Production Delays on A-Class

Early October 2007 I ordered an A-Class, and had confirmation it was to be built on December 1, 2007. With less than 2 weeks until production date, I learned today that due to the facelift to the A-Class, my car will not be built until sometime in April 2008. Elapsed time from order to delivery will probably come out to 7-8 months! Considering that I had a confirmed production date and prepaid the car, this is a remarkably arrogant way to handle changes in production and certainly does not make me feel like a valued customer. Hopefully I can get the deposit back quickly - it is very unlikely that I will ever buy a Mercedes again.

Sorry to hear that, but look at the bright side you do get a latest version A class with all the improvement. Ususally the facelift version will also iron out the little bugs of the pervious generation. So may be you have to wait quite a bit longer but for the same money you get a better car, hope this will help you feel better. Take care

4 months is nothing..

Initially i booked B class, waited around 10 months and the best part is they kept saying the car is arriving which no one knows what is happening!! So they suggested I change to A class since there is few available in the store, how stupid. So I changed to A class, and the first service experience - worst.

My car was actually good before I sent for service, after that service, things not done properly, more sounds appeared! the alignment that i requested them to check on was absolutely slanted as it was obvious to see it from the steering. (Didn't the mechanic check the car before they tell the customer to collect their car?) My house is about 1hr away to the extreme far service center, just for that 1st car service experience, I have gone back 4 times because the problem still remained with lots of obvious irritation sounds!! And the 2nd experience, I sent my car back to change the windscreen, and re-spray the bumper (someone knocked me), it took about 1 month for them to fix the whole problem!! I specifically told them, if it's due to insurance claim, charge to me first and reimbursement later, but somehow or rather, things just get worst!!

The best part is, I found something very strange on the door panel, the stickers started to change color, from black to gray. I asked them what happen, the mechanic said something about deterioration, and i asked can change, how much? The best answer: It's under warranty! I asked him again how come didn't tell me, he said because I didn't complaint. (which he said they only rectify the problem if there is a complaint!)..So effective! Apparently my windscreen cover was not sufficient according to the mechanic, which the figure was given to be insured by them!! The next day I called i asked for windscreen price for different class just wanna make sure that I'm fully covered. And the receptionist said, why u need so many classes for? just tell me what class u r driving and I will give that one figure to u. Wow.. I was shock to hear that. For whatever reason, I got it from another workshop right away.

Now that I have to send my car back AGAIN, another hour driving just to change the stickers..

I must say, fren, 4 months of waiting period is nothing as compared to horror experience!! I'm willing to let go of the warranty and search for the better handling process if anyone know any.
