My Sister-in-law in England has an A-Class and has been really happy with it. Great little car.
Any Chance of it coming across the pond? I keep hearing rumors of the Smart coming soon, so would this be the next step up the MB ladder? Especially in our world of $3 a gallon fuel prices.

Not very likely. If you read about the B Class you will see why. The B Class may come to the US in 2011 but that remains to be seen. Consumer Reports has a B that they are testing for a fall issue on small cars. I bought my B from a Canadian dealer last year.
As for the A-Class, it seems that North America will only be getting the B-Class, specifically in Canada. The Canadian B-Class is US-legal apparently, so you could impoort one as CA-B200 has done. After all, the B-Class is just a slightly larger/more spacious (and better-looking IMO) A-Class.
