Problem with one_touch up/down function on the windows
Hi,
I have the one-touch up/down option on my A-Class but it doesn't work from time to time (quite often). The dealer said that if it does not wotk I should close the3 window and continie to hold the button for few more seconds so the windows are reset. This worked and the one-touch option worked after that, but after few days it does it again. This only happens on the drivers side window.
Anybody knows why and what can I do?
Thanx!

Sir...
I deduct from your description, that the windows go up and then go down about a third of the way. If so, this is a common problem. You will likely experience it at different windows at cold temperatures as well, at least I did.
The reset trick with holding the switches worked for me intermittently, but the windows eventually will fault again. Don't let them fool you with just silicon lubrication of the seals, this is short lived. For me, a "re-learning", done by the service center did the trick so far. (I still have to wait for cold temps)
They told me, and I don't know if this is really true, the window has to "learn" where the top of the travel is. The anti-jamming feature then is only working in the lower 3/4 of the travel and reversing the window when obstructed during this lower 3/4 travel. If the window "does not know" where the top is, the anti-jamming feature kicks in when it hits the upper track and therefore reversing the window on impact.
How exactly the re-learning was done is unclear to me, but probably on the Star-Diagnosis there is an option for that????
Keep us posted how your problem was fixed, or if you had a different problem than mine.
Cheers
My problem is that the driver window doesn't close (just closing) with the one-touch close option (the way it should work is that when you shortly pull the switch up and leave it, the window should close automatically without holding the button up). After I reset the windows it works fine for some time than it fails again. But it is not like your problem that it doesn't close/open completely, it closes but you need to hold the button up until it closes.
I actually don't like how the opeing/closing of the windows goes as it seems they struggle to close and it seems the whole mechanism will fail any time. It doesn't sound very reassuring, robust or relieble.
