My A-Class (C169) is 1 year old now and the ASSYST system is telling me that the next B service is in about 5000 km (I have about 10000 km), but the Mercedes Benz service tells me that I need to bring it in to be checked because one year has passed since I bought it. Is this OK? I thought that I don't need to do any checks or servicing unless the ASSYST tells me to.
Back in 1998 when ordered my C-280 my first service also took a year when my assyst started to countdown the days for the first service. My dealer told me the same thing that i had to bring it in before. My second service also took a year. According my service records i had the car services 6 to 7 times. The last one was in June 2006.
