A160 Rough start

Hi guys, did some searching on the forum but could not find a clear answer, my a160, does not like cold starting at all, at the first attempt i would turn the engine over and it would sound like it just wants to start but fails, then on the second attempt it would start but will barely idle, then i rev it up a bit for 30 seconds or so then its fine for the rest of the day. next morning, same thing. Please advise

What have you examined, cleaned or changed? You must start eliminating possible problem areas.

ok, update, stored codes is the p0170, no wit seems it can be a lot of things, mafs, ecu, lambda etc. but which one is it? of course now that i started the car and it will be fine for the rest of the day im not getting any fault codes or mil lights, so could it be that my maf is just dirty or something to that effect?

"P0170 Fuel Trim Malfunction. Check vacuum leaks first or faulty air mass flow sensor".

MAF can be cleaned with the right aerosol. Most folks replace, but depends on mileage.

O2 sensors tend to last about 100k miles - what's the mileage here?

You might consider cleaning the throttle actuator as we discussed here, as this is known to affect engine performance.

yeah mine has 102 000 miles....... going to explore 3 paths here, the valve actuator, o2 sensor and fuel pump filter.

Thanks for all the advice keyhole, i really appreciate it im starting to lose hope here, ive swopped the valve actuator and the filter and still same problem im also really starting to think its a fuel pressure fault rather than the o2 sensors because of various reasons and also both sensors output 0.50 volts which i believe is healthy? so im going to either have it scanned by a proper scanner at a MB dealer :'( or swop the fuel pump, still deciding........ any advice will be appreciated, oh yes and by the way the check engine light does come on when it misfires and all that, it just seems the guy before me removed the light from the cluster (sigh)
